Curriculum

Dr. Rossi is involved in projects regarding the trafficking of different leukocyte subpopulations from blood into the central nervous system during neurological disorders in which inflammation plays a detrimental role. In particular Dr. Rossi focused her interest to multiple sclerosis, a chronic disabling autoimmune inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. Dr. Rossi studies the molecular mechanisms involved in the leukocytes migration in the central nervous system and their in situ reactivation, a critical event in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis and its animal model, the experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
