Use of intestinal organoids for theratyping applications in cystic fibrosis - 2021

  from 7/1/21 to 7/31/21

The student learned how to use organoids to screen in vitro particular drugs that could be used to improve the condition of patients affected by cystic fibrosis in a personalized manner/treatment, i.e. use of modulators specific designed to correct each CF disease-causing CFTR variants. Moreover, the student learned the importance of work correctly in order to avoid cell culture contamination and how to perform regularly the mycoplasma screening test for detecting possible contamination on conditioned medium used to cultivate organoids.
